Made of Ice and Air

Winter offers up discoveries in many shapes and patterns that invite exploration. One of my favorites is to search for bubble patterns in ice. When our New England ponds freeze solid enough for playing skating games, it's time to wrap our fear of ice in a warm blanket and get out there and take a look. Yes, that's me saying that I am fearful of ice, no matter how much logical convincing or jumping up and down on it you try. With this in mind, I go slowly knowing the results will likely reward me. I know the ice will change daily depending on weather conditions, so I really want to see what's out there today. Here are the fun results of a recent ice exploration (minus the dead fish, which I'm guessing you don't want to see).
